BJD

Ball-jointed dolls (BJD) originated in Europe and refer to various movable dolls with ball joints. Ball-jointed dolls have standard body shapes and exquisite details. Because ball joints are installed in key parts, the dolls can make many poses close to real people. Materials such as plaster, ceramics, wood and plastic can all be used to make dolls. Nowadays, most BJDs are generally made of a hard polyurethane with a delicate and smooth feel. The middle part is hollow, and the various parts are connected with rubber bands, rubber-coated aluminum wires, and S hooks. However, because the dolls are expensive, most collectors are adults. Ball-jointed dolls are currently mainly produced in East Asian countries and regions (according to the development sequence, such as Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and China). This kind of ball-jointed doll with an appearance between real people and Japanese anime is generally called Asian ball-jointed dolls (ABJD)
